OL97: ENTER Key Does Not Open Journal Entry from within Contact

SYMPTOMS

The ENTER key does not open a selected Journal entry from within an open Contact. You can select the Journal entry by either pressing the TAB key to move to it or by single-clicking it with the mouse. Once selected, the ENTER key will not open the Journal entry.

WORKAROUND

There are two methods for opening Journal entries from within a Contact.

Method 1

To open an embedded Journal entry using key strokes:

  1. From within the open Contact, press CTRL+TAB to select the Journal tab.

  2. Press the TAB key to select the embedded Journal entry.

  3. Press CTRL+O to open the Journal entry.

Method 2

To open the embedded Journal entry with the mouse:

  1. From within the open Contact, click the Journal tab.

  2. Double-click the Journal entry.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
