SYMPTOMS

The AutoSignature feature does not insert signature information into a message based on a custom mail form.

CAUSE

The AutoSignature feature works only with the default mail form.

WORKAROUND

To simulate the AutoSignature feature in a custom mail form:

  1. Turn on the AutoSignature feature. To do so, follow these steps:

    a. On the Tools menu, click AutoSignature.

    b. Enter the signature information, and then click OK.

  2. Create a custom form. To do so, follow these steps:

    a. Create a new mail message based on the default message form to use

as a pattern for your custom form. IMPORTANT: Do not remove the
signature information automatically inserted in the pattern form.

    b. On the Tools menu, click Design Outlook Form.

    c. Customize the form using the form design tools.

    d. On the File menu, click Publish Form As.

    e. Type a name for the form, and then click Publish.

Any messages based on the new form will include the signature information.
