OL97: How to Link Outlook Appointments, Contacts, and Tasks

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Outlook 97, you can quickly access logical sets of appointments, contacts, and tasks using inserted shortcuts to link these items together.

To insert a shortcut into an appointment, contact, or task, follow these steps:

  1. Open an appointment, contact, or task.

  2. On the Insert menu select, Item.

  3. Under Look In, select Calendar, Contacts, or Tasks.

  4. Under Items, select the target appointment, contact, or task.

  5. Under Insert As, click to select Shortcut.

  6. Click OK.

Double-clicking the inserted shortcut will take you directly to the target appointment, contact, or task.

You can use this technique to link together any combination of appointments, contacts, and tasks.
