The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSAfter you install Microsoft Outlook 97 and then remove Microsoft Exchange Client through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs option, some shared DLLs are deleted that are needed by Outlook 97.
CAUSEMicrosoft Exchange Setup does not mark some DLLs as shared; therefore, they are not protected during the Remove process.
WORKAROUNDRemove Microsoft Exchange before you install Outlook, or reinstall Outlook after you remove Microsoft Exchange.
STATUSMicrosoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base, as it becomes available.
