The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 97
  • Windows NT 3.51

SYMPTOMS

When you type telephone numbers in Microsoft Outlook 97 running on Windows NT version 3.51, the numbers are not automatically parsed into area code, prefix, number, and extension.

CAUSE

This Outlook feature requires that the operating system support TAPI (Telephony Applications Programmers Interface). Unlike Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, Windows NT versions 3.51 and earlier do not support TAPI.
