The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Outlook 97, if you use the Microsoft Network (MSN) along with other services that need a modem, you may find the services in contention for use of the modem.
CAUSEMSN is set for a persistent connection to the modem.
RESOLUTIONTo turn off the persistent modem connection of MSN:
MORE INFORMATIONIf you use the "Check for New Mail" command on the Tools menu, it is not possible to dictate the sequence in which the various services check for mail. To check for mail on a specific service, use the "Check for New Mail on" command, and then select the service from the list.
