OL97: Voting Messages and Meeting Invitations Missing Buttons

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook 97, when you send a meeting invitation or click "Use voting buttons," the buttons may be missing from the received message.

CAUSE

You are using the Internet Mail transport service and have not chosen to send e-mail to the recipient in Rich-text Format (RTF).

RESOLUTION

Select the Internet Mail option for sending e-mail in RTF for each recipient.

To Select the RTF Sending Option for Contacts

  1. Open a contact.

  2. Double-click the e-mail address.

  3. On the STMP Tab, click to select "Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Exchange rich-text format" and then click OK.

  4. Click Save and then Close.

To Select the RTF Sending Option for Personal Address Book Entries

  1. In the Inbox view, click the Address Book button on the toolbar.

  2. Click Personal Address Book, in the "Show Names from the" list.

  3. Double-click the recipient's entry.

  4. On the STMP tab, click to select, "Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Exchange rich-text format" and then click OK.
5. Click Save and then Close.
