OL97: Recurring Appointments Display Only Series in Card View

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook 97, when you create a new Calendar view based on the Card type of view, recurring appointments display as only one card for the series rather than individual cards for each occurrence. If you modify one of the appointments in the series, the modification does not appear.

CAUSE

This is by design. Choosing to view Recurring Appointments in the Current View window exhibits similar behavior, listing only one entry for each recurring appointment series.

RESOLUTION

To see individual occurrences of recurring appointments, display them in the Day/Week/Month view.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. In Outlook, click the Calendar folder.

  2. On the View menu, click Define Views.

  3. In "Define Views for 'Calendar'", click New.

  4. Type a name for the view, click Card in the "Type of view" list and click OK and OK.

  5. Click Apply View and OK.

RESULT: This displays only one card for each recurring appointment series rather than a separate card for each occurrence.
