SUMMARY

Microsoft has released three generations of object models for providing extensions to messaging functionality in advanced messaging environments. These models, from oldest to most current, are OLE Messaging, Active Messaging and Collaborative Data Objects.

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

MORE INFORMATION

Object models such as those listed in the Summary section consist of code support libraries for developing custom messaging applications and solutions with Visual Basic and/or Visual Basic Script code. These products are available from various sources depending on the generation.
