OL97: Error Using WordMail With @ in Computer Name

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to use the option, "Use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor" in Microsoft Outlook 97, you may receive the follow error message:

   Word is either busy or cannot be found.

CAUSE

One cause for this error is the use of an "@" character in the name of the computer.

RESOLUTION

Remove the @ character from the name of the computer.

To Change Your Computer's Name

1. Double-click the Network icon in Control Panel.

2. On the Identification tab, change the name in the Computer Name box so that it does not contain the @ character.

3. Click OK.
