OL97: Error in Pimab32.dll When Using WordMail

SYMPTOMS

When using Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor (WordMail) in Microsoft Outlook 97, you may get the following error message:

   WinWord caused an invalid page fault in PIMAB32.dll

CAUSE

You are using the Compaq Address Book service.

RESOLUTION

Remove the Compaq Address Book service from the profile.

To remove the Compaq Address Book service, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.

  2. On the Services tab, click Compaq Address Book, then click Remove.

  3. Click OK.
