SYMPTOMSWhen opening a shortcut to an item in a Personal Folders (PST) file, in a Microsoft Outlook 97 Contact record, you may get the following error message:
The file <PST> could not be found. CAUSEYou moved the PST file after establishing the shortcut to the item. The shortcut still points to the original PST location.
RESOLUTIONRebuild the shortcut based on the current location of the file.
Steps to Build an Item ShortcutTo rebuild the shortcut based on the current location of the file, follow these steps:
NOTE: If you should move the PST file from its current location, clicking the shortcut will produce the error message above. In this event, delete the original shortcut and rebuild it using the steps above.
