  • Microsoft Outlook 97

SYMPTOMS

If you update Microsoft Outlook 97 support for Lotus cc:Mail using the file ccmailsp.exe in the ValuePack of Microsoft Office 97 Service Release-1, you may receive the following error when you try to create a new profile:

Unable to find cc:Mail program directory. Do you want to find it now or
   work offline?"

When you click Find it Now, the same error is displayed and the server is not found.

This error will occur whether or not you have updated your installation of Microsoft Office 97.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the issue install the cc:Mail files that come with the original Microsoft Office 97. The file, ccmailsp.exe is located in the ValuePack\Ccmail folder on the Office 97 compact disc.

NOTE: During the installation of the cc:Mail support files you will be prompted with:

A file being copied is older than the file currently on your computer.
It is recommended that you keep your existing file. Do you want to keep
   this file?

Click No for each file to restore the earlier versions.
