The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThe X400GATE.EXE hangs when too many characters (74 or more) are in the subject line of the outgoing message. The same message coming into the system does not hang the gateway. The gateway logs the messages before hanging with these errors (notice the negative byte count):

CAUSEField length limitations cause this problem.
RESOLUTIONThis affects messages coming in from Profs that you reply to. They come in fine but hang the gateway once you reply to them. If you forward the message it also works fine and does not hang the gateway.
STATUSThis problem was corrected in version 3.2.2.
