The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIncoming messages that contain a line longer than 79 characters are wrapped after the 78th column, and the 79th character is deleted.
CAUSEWhen OUTPOST.EXE parses a message, it looks for the carriage return- linefeed (CR/LF) combination to indicate the end of the line. The 79th character is not being preserved during this check.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in version 3.0 of Microsoft Mail Gateway to MHS. This problem is corrected in OUTPOST.EXE version 3.0.6. If you do not have version 3.0.6 (or later), you can download MHSOUT.EXE, a self-extracting file, on the following services:
