PC DOS: Default Text Color Changed in Message Body

SYMPTOMS

When you compose a new message in version 3.2 of Microsoft Mail for PC Networks, MS-DOS workstation, the text in the body of the message may not appear in the default color, which is soft white on a black background. The text may appear in a different color, on a different background, flashing, or a combination of these.

CAUSE

The default text color has been changed. You can change the default text color in the MS-DOS client.

RESOLUTION

To restore the default text color

  1. Create a new mail message by choosing the Compose option.

  2. Scroll down to the body of the message.

  3. Press the F4 key to bring up the highlight color selection. Scroll until you are at the top of the list (you will hear beeps if you try to scroll any higher). Press the down arrow key six times, until the soft white color is selected.

  4. Press F4 key to select this color as the default color for all messages.
