SUMMARYWhen you perform a Workstation installation, the name of the user is missing when you choose About on the Help menu in the Microsoft program you are using.
MORE INFORMATIONThis problem occurs because the Microsoft Setup Program writes the name directly to the application file. During an administrative installation, the application files are copied to the server and the user name is not written to the application file until the application file is copied to the workstation's local hard disk drive (this occurs when you run a Typical, Minimum, or Custom/Complete Setup from the server). With a Workstation installation, the application file is not copied to the local disk drive and stays on the server. When you click About on the Help menu after a workstation installation, the information displayed is the information from the application file on the server; this information does not have a user name.
