The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSYou may experience a parsing failure if the SMTP server fails to correctly parse the DNS names. However, the mail messages should still be delivered to the host indicated on the MX record. Also, if you add a third DNS server, it can cause the SMTP server to use the "A" record when it should be using the MX record.
RESOLUTIONUpgrade to MCIS Service Pack 1 (SP1). The DNS list parsing code in the Smtpsvc.dll file which causes this problem was updated, and the SMTP server now correctly parses DNS names.
