SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to use the anonymous account to access the Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) News Server after installing it on a backup domain controller (BDC), you receive a "480 logon required" message, even though you have anonymous access enabled. Note that many other services (for example, the WWW) may have this same problem.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, do either of the following:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in MCIS News Server version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
