Problem Installing MCIS News Server with Banyan NT 4.x ClientLast reviewed: February 3, 1998Article ID: Q162406 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to install the Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) News Server on a computer running Windows NT Server that has the Banyan NT 4.xx Client installed, setup stops responding with an Ins0432_mp.exe error after the program groups are created.
CAUSEThe problem seems to be related to the fact that the Banyan NT Client is running its own TCP/IP stack.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, remove the Banyan Client while installing the MCIS News Server. After installation is complete, reinstall the Banyan Client. If the problems still occur, you will need to remove the Banyan Client while running the MCIS News Server, or try an earlier version of the Banyan Client. STATUS Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Commercial Internet System version 1.0. We are working with Banyan and researching this problem, and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
