CRS: DBCS Is Not Compatible with Webadmin

SYMPTOMS

When you create a project using the Content Replication System (CRS) command line and then open the project with Webadmin, the directory contains corrupted characters.

-or-

When you create a project using Webadmin and select a directory that has double byte character set (DBCS) characters, when you attempt to save the project, scripting errors occur, and the project is never created.

CAUSE

CRS Webadmin doesn't recognize DBCS characters.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System, version 1.0 and 1.0 Service Pack 1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
