  • Microsoft Systems Management Server version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2

SUMMARY

It is not possible to remote control SMS NetWare logon server clients over any protocol other than IPX.

MORE INFORMATION

The NetWare network redirector does not support NetBIOS or named pipes. NetWare SMS clients use the Useripx.exe TSR to register a SAP with the NetWare server so they can be located by the remote controller (or administrator) computer.

To remote control over a WAN or across segments, IPX routing must be enabled. Even if TCP/IP is also installed on the NetWare client, SMS will not remote control over TCP/IP.
