SMS: Remote Control May Get a Dr.Watson Error w/ Acrobat Viewer

SYMPTOMS

If Adobe Acrobat Viewer 3.0 is started on a Windows 95 client computer that is being used by a Systems Management Server Administrator program Remote Control session, the computer running the Systems Management Server Administrator program may receive the following error:

   Sms.exe - Exception: access violation (0xc0000005)

In addition, a Dr. Watson log will be generated. The Remote Control session will no longer be available.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server version 1.2. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Systems Management Server 1.2 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
