The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf clients are running Program Group Control (PGC) and have several shared applications within a shared group, it is possible that the client will see Dr. Watson errors when it starts up. The error is 0xc0000005.
CAUSEThe cause is in the memory allocation within the Icon count routines.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, obtain the hotfix mentioned in the STATUS section of this article.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server version 1.2. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression- tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
