Article ID: Q111400

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SQL Server, version 4.2
BUG# NT: 670 (4.2)

SYMPTOMS

When issuing an RPC from a NT SQL Server to an OS/2 SQL Server with a mapped trusted account on the remote machine, the execution attempt fails with the following error:

   Msg 7221, Level 14, State 2:
Login to site "<remote server>" failed.

This happens only if the password for the local account is different from the password on the mapped account on the remote machine.

WORKAROUND

As a workaround, change the passwords on both servers to be the same.
