BUG: Object Manager Not List Names That Start with MS

Last reviewed: April 29, 1997
Article ID: Q112590

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2
  • Microsoft SQL Server, version 4.2
BUG# 9741 (4.2)

SYMPTOMS

The Object Manager transfer window does not list tables whose name starts with MS. If the SQL Server is case insensitive, table names starting with ms are also not listed. Please note that these tables are listed in the other components of Object Manager in the manage objects and schema generate windows.

WORKAROUND

Use the batch bcp utility to transfer tables whose name fits this pattern, or possibly rename the tables.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 and SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
