BUG: Schema Generate Does Not Include Statement PermissionsLast reviewed: April 29, 1997Article ID: Q113158 |
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2 - Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2BUG# 9892 (4.2)
SYMPTOMSObject Manager's schema generate function does not put statement permissions granted to users or groups into the generated script. If a database has users or groups which have been granted statement permissions, schema generate will not include the grants in its generated scripts. For example, if a site does
use pubs go sp_addlogin testlgin, NULL, pubs, NULL go sp_addgroup testgrp go sp_adduser testlgin, testuser, testgrp go grant create database, create default, create procedure, create rule, create table, create view, dump database, dump transaction to testuser go grant create database, create default, create procedure, create rule, create table, create view, dump database, dump transaction to testgrp goThen if the site uses schema generator to generate a script with all objects, users and logins, the statement permission grants will not be included in the generated script.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for and SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
