BUG: Object Manager May Not Display User ID in Lists of Users

Last reviewed: April 29, 1997
Article ID: Q113159

The information in this article applies to:

  - Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2
  - Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2
BUG# 9806 (4.2)

SYMPTOMS

If a user has been granted all permissions against a table, Object Manager will not always include the user id in its lists of users with specified permissions on a table.

If a user id is granted all permissions on a table, that user id should show up in all lists of users under the Objects/Object Permissions... menu item, regardless of which permissions have been selected. Instead, the user id is only listed when both the select and update permissions are specified.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for and SQL Server version 4.2b for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
