The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for OS/2BUG# OS/2: 1838 (4.2bK13)
SYMPTOMSSQL Server version 4.2bK13 may general protection fault (GP fault) if a system stored procedure is run from a database set to single user mode. The problem also occurs on SQL Server version 4.2bK12. 4.2bK13 may GP fault with sp_addlogin, sp_rename, and sp_help. 4.2bK12 does not GP fault on sp_addlogin but may GP fault on other system stored procedures.
WORKAROUNDDo not set the database to single user mode if executing system stored procedures.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server versions 4.2bK12 and 4.2bK13 for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
