  • Microsoft SQL Server, version 6.0
BUG# NT: 11246 (6.00)

SYMPTOMS

When you choose File, Configure from the drop-down menu in ISQL/w, the Configuration dialog box appears. If you click the Connection tab and set the Query timeout to n seconds, no query will time out after n seconds.

CAUSE

With configurations of Named-Pipes, TCP/IP or IPX/SPX Net-Libraries, the Query Timeout is fixed at zero, which means a query will run indefinitely.
