BUG: Removing Upgraded SQL Server 6.5 Leaves Program Group

SYMPTOMS

If you upgrade SQL Server version 6.0 to SQL Server 6.5, and then run the SQL Setup utility to remove SQL Server, Setup fails to remove the SQL Server program group or any of its icons.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft SQL Server version 6.50. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Remove the icons and the program group manually after the Setup utility completes.
