FIX: Striped Dump to 7 or More Devices is Not Logged

SYMPTOMS

When doing a striped dump to 7 or more devices, the dump event is not logged in the SQL Server errorlog nor in the Windows NT event logs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 3 for Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. For more information, contact your primary support provider.

MORE INFORMATION

Even though the dump event is not logged, the dump completes successfully. A load from the dump set is successful.
