BUG: DOC: Info on Manual Replication for Sync Task Incorrect

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SQL Server versions 6.0 and 6.5

SYMPTOMS

In the SQL Server "Administrator's Companion," in Chapter 15 ("Advanced Replication"), on page 547 ("Setting Replication Manually"), item 11 states incorrectly that the sync task should be created on the publisher. Actually, it should be created on the distribution server.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server versions 6.0 and 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
