STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 4.21a. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONIn the SQL Server Programmer's Toolkit Setup program, there is a step where the user can choose one or more installation options, such as DB-Library development libraries. If the color palette is not set to 256 colors, options are not displayed properly, and when the user continues with the setup, PTK Setup stops responding at the "File copy in progress" window. The user cannot exit from Setup by canceling the program; he or she must end the task. NOTE: This problem does not occur on SQL Server versions 6.0 or 6.5.
