BUG: SQL Enterprise Manager Displays Negative or 0 Database Size

SYMPTOMS

The Edit Database window of SQL Enterprise Manager (SEM) reports the database space available or log space available as a value less than or equal to 0 when free space is actually available. This problem occurs even after you use the Recalculate button to recalculate the amount of free space.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the Recalculate button and then run the CHECKPOINT command in the database.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server versions 6.0 and 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
