The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for OS/2 TRUNCATE TABLE deallocates all of the pages, both data and index, assigned to a table by using the allocation bitmaps. This is much faster than following the page chain and deleting each row, especially if indexes are involved.
