The information in this article applies to:
 - Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for OS/2 If SQL Server escalates to table locking because so many individual pages are locked that it is more efficient to lock the entire table, it returns to page-level locking when the locks can be freed at the end of the transaction (whether a COMMIT or ROLLBACK).
