BUG: Running ENDDBLIB After LOADHIGH DBNMPIPE

SYMPTOMS

Running ENDDBLIB.EXE causes the following error:

   Memory allocation error
   Cannot load COMMAND, system halted

CAUSE

ENDDBLIB.EXE cannot successfully unload the TSR DBNMPIPE.EXE if it was loaded into high memory using LOADHIGH in MS-DOS version 5.0.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server versions 4.2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
