The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2 for OS/2
SUMMARYAs described on page 46 of the "Installation Guide," an MS-DOS-based machine can be configured to use both the 850 and 437 code pages. To do this, you must make additional entries in the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. For example, if you want your system to use both the 850 and 437 code pages, with code page 850 as the default, add the following entries to your CONFIG.SYS file:
country=001,850,c:\dos\country.sys device=c:\display.sys con:=(ega,850,2)In the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, add the following:
load nlsfunc mode con codepage prepare=((850)c:\dos\ega.cpi) chcp 850To determine the active and prepared code page, use the following MS-DOS MODE command:
mode con cpTo change the code page, use one of the following commands:
chcp 437 -or- chcp 850 MORE INFORMATIONFor more information about setting code pages with MS-DOS, see your MS-DOS documentation.
