INFO: Microsoft DTC Must be Running for Transaction SupportLast reviewed: October 10, 1997Article ID: Q164915 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYThe Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator(DTC) must be running on the node that a Microsoft Transaction Server component is running on if the component is marked "Requires a transaction" or "Requires a new transaction". The Microsoft Transaction Server uses the Distributed Transaction Coordinator to provide transaction support, both distributed and not. If the Distributed Transaction Coordinator is unavailable, transactions can not be used and you will receive an OLE automation error, -2147164153(8004e007). Non transactional components do not require the Distributed Transaction Coordinator.
