The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel, you can change the document properties of a protected workbook through a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro, even though you cannot change the document properties manually.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONTo bring up the <document> Properties dialog box (where <document> is the name of your document), click Properties on the File menu. To protect your workbook, click Protection on the Tools menu, and then click Protect Workbook. When you protect the structure of the workbook, the Properties command on the File menu becomes unavailable.
