SYMPTOMSIn a Visual Basic for Applications macro, you cannot use the wdParagraph constant in conjunction with the ColumnSelectMode property to select a vertical column of text.
RESOLUTIONUse the wdLine constant instead of the wdParagraph constant as in the following example:
'This macro uses the wdLine constant to select a column of text three
'characters wide by two lines deep.
'To cancel this selection, press ESC.
Sub SelectVerticalColumn()
If Selection.ColumnSelectMode = False Then
Selection.ColumnSelectMode = True
Else
Selection.ColumnSelectMode = False
Selection.End = Selection.Start
End If
