The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro that displays a customized Office Assistant balloon, the balloon may not appear on the screen. When this problem occurs, the value of the BalloonError property of the Assistant object is set to 4 (msoBalloonErrorBadPictureRef).
CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

With Assistant.NewBalloon .Text = "{bmp ""C:\Windows\My Picture.bmp""}" .Show End WithWhen you run the macro, the balloon appears correctly, and the value of the BalloonError property is zero (0).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
