DOC: PictureBox Does Not Display Certain Graphics Files

SUMMARY

The Books Online for Windows CE Toolkit states that the PictureBox control can display a graphic picture from a bitmap (.bmp, .dib), icon (.ico, .cur), metafile (.wmf), enhanced metafile (.emf), JPEG (.jpg) or GIF file.

The PictureBox control does not support graphic pictures from icon, metafile, enhanced metafile, JPEG, or GIF files. However, bitmaps (.bmp and .2bp) are displayed successfully.

This an error in the Books Online Documentation: only the bitmap picture types are supported by the VBCE.

Note that this only applies to the PictureBox control in the WinCE Toolkit for Visual Basic 5.0.
