FIX: Ctrl+I Crashes App Studio When Loading .RC File

The information in this article applies to:

  • The App Studio, included with: Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, version 1.5

SYMPTOMS

When loading a .RC file into App Studio, if the Ctrl+I key combination (used to bring up resource file symbols) is pressed while the resource compiler is compiling the file, App Studio will cause a General Protection Fault in APSTUDIO.EXE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual C++ version 2.0.
