The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSAn attempt to add a library to a project fails if the library has a name like LLIB<xxx>.LIB. Visual C++ changes the name of the library to LLIB<x>[E|7|A]<x>.lib depending on the coprocessor option specified in the C++ Compiler Options dialog box.
RESOLUTIONPerform one of the following two steps to address this problem:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
