FIX: Limit on the Total Number of InfoViewer Titles

Last reviewed: December 19, 1997
Article ID: Q171846
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 97
  • The development environment included with: - Microsoft Visual Studio 97 - Microsoft Visual C++, 32-bit Editions, version 5.0 - Microsoft Visual InterDev, version 1.0 - Microsoft Visual J, version 1.1

SYMPTOMS

When you start InfoViewer, you receive a "Title Registration Error" for some of the online books. These titles are not available in the table of contents (they don't show up at all), nor are they available for full text search.

CAUSE

There is a limitation to the total amount of InfoViewer book title registry information. After installing MSDN and also installing several additional products that include the online books not in MSDN, the InfoViewer may run out of space.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This bug has been fixed in Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2.

For more information on the Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
