The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThe 16-bit DDESpy utility, supplied with the Windows SDK version 3.1 and Visual C++ for Windows version 1.5, can cause a general protection (GP) fault in KRNL386.EXE when the CTRL key is pressed. This problem only occurs when running DDESPY under Windows NT version 3.1.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the 16-bit DDESpy version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. This problem does not occur with Visual C++ 2.0 32-bit Edition.
