PRB: Cannot Install a Print Processor Named WINPRINTLast reviewed: June 11, 1996Article ID: Q151890 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSUnder Windows 95, a print processor cannot be installed if it has a name of "WinPrint." In Windows 95, SPOOLSS.DLL contains default print subsystem components, one of which is the default print processor called "WinPrint." When trying to install a print processor either programmatically or by an .INF file, SPOOLSS.DLL will check to see if the print processor is named "WinPrint." If it is, the installation will fail.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
