PRB: Bug in the GDI Font Mapper Code

Last reviewed: June 4, 1997
Article ID: Q169585
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Win32 Device Development Kit (DDK) for Windows NT, version 4.00

SYMPTOMS

If a user sets ulTechnology to DT_CHARSTREAM of the GDIINFO structure to support resident device fonts, Windows NT will only use the first font available in the printer driver even though other fonts are enumerated.

CAUSE

This occurs because there is a bug in the font mapper code that will be fixed for the next release of the operating system.

RESOLUTION

One way to work around this problem is to set the ulTechnology field of the GDIINFO structure to DT_RASPRINTER.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
